My new look!

Ta daaa! I am now not only a proud farmer on Facebook (which would not have happened if I wasn't spending so much time at home) but also a farmer with short hair! Yes, I finally did it. After months of thinking to cut my hair short, yesterday was the big day. And here is the result (ok, it is a bit blurred but you get the picture):

Today I am looking forward to spending the day with some friends, visiting my most favourite places from our high school times. Great times they were! So see you guys later! :)

Merry Christmas, everyone! :)

In the last few days I was too busy sipping mulled wine, eating gingerbread cookies, opening presents and relaxing, which I am also planning to do again now, so just a short Merry Christmas to all and a great year ahead!

I met the community!

Yay, I finally met the community! Last night I had a couple of beers with a few of our members, part of the Bulgarian Community of PokerStrategy.com! It was great to meet them all and I hope they had fun too!

We talked about poker, poker rooms, poker pros and PokerStrategy.com and all in all it was a very nice evening, despite the cold in Sofia!

Here is a photo of all of us:

Hope to see you again soon, guys!

Ha! I shall be famous in Sweden!

Ok, we finally made it to the top. To the top of a list of links to blogs on another blog, that is!

Since this last sentence sounds rather confusing, let me explain. My friend and co-worker Joakim (who btw looks better with shorter hair, no offence mate!) decided that we (my blog and me) deserve to be linked on his blog. And so we are on top, listed first under PS.com Friends blogs!!!

It is so very exciting to be famous in Sweden and not only (and a lot of people read Joakim's blog) that I am not speechless. So here is one photo of Joakim at the PokerStrategy.com Xmas Party '09 for an end of this post:

My bunny has no talent!

I decided to turn my bunny into a circus bunny. After all, he is big enough to earn his living and a career in circus is not a bad thing.

However, after desperately trying to make him jump through rings, I discovered that his only real talent is to play dead. Not only didn't he want to jump through the metal rings (which I did NOT even set on fire despite the fact that it would have been way more spectacular) but he also ran away from me, hid under the sofa and to thank me for my effort, bit me! And I was only trying to make him usefel...

Here, have a look at the ungrateful bastard (playing dead, of course):

Gib pounds is not money!

...at least not according to my Bulgarian bank. I tried to exchange some Gibraltar pounds yesterday (because stupidly enough, I did not check what bills I got from Natwest and to be honest, it never crossed my mind that the Gib ones would not be accepted) and ended up still having pounds when I left the bank.

As you can imagine, I was not happy. Please, Miss World 2009 -
Kaiane Aldorino, make the Gib government stop printing these funny money with monkeys on them and start making normal UK money.

I am asking you, Kaiane, since you seem to be the most important person in Gib these days. Have fun celebrating with the whole of Gib tonight and please do not forget the money issue!

No more promises this time!

Ok, I will not promise anything this time. I am probably the worst blogger ever because I never blog regularly but I always promise this is the last big break between the posts.

But now I finally have some time so here a few short notices:

  • I am on holiday. A proper, 3-week holiday, the first real one in a year. Feels weird and wrong. I know Dessi will do a great job without me but not being involved in anything is making me feel nervous. I hope it will be better in a few days.

  • People still clasp when a plane lands safely at Sofia airport. Wonder whether they shout loud and swear when the landing isn't smooth.

  • My pet bunny is fat and hairy. But I still love him. Here he is:

  • It is cold in Sofia. As in freakishly cold. I almost froze the moment I landed today.

  • We decorated the house. It looks really pretty now. My sister also tried to decorate me. Didnt work out so well. See yourself:

Now it is time to finally catch up with some sleep. A lot of friend-meeting tomorrow and maybe some shopping. I am on holiday after all... See you soon!

Booo!

Ok, I am a bit ashamed. But also proud. Not many people can desert their blogs as often as I do. And not many people will make a new promise every time that this will never happen again. But I do.

So, let me summarize the past few months.

A. I finally quit my job at PartyGaming. After the few days of initial guilt and second thoughts, I have not regretted my decision for a moment since. There is life outside PartyPoker, not enough bonuses and lost transactions! And its a cool life too...

B. I started a new job - as a Community Manager for the most successful and biggest professional poker school - PokerStrategy.com. The people who have never had a bad day at work as a CSA in a gaming company don't know this site. The others do - and believe, probably still shiver if their name is mentioned.

C. I finally went to Barcelona and fell in love with the city. All the teeny tiny streets in the centre, with all the old big houses, all of Gaudi's bizarre but brilliant ideas, the Strawberry Mojitos in an Irish pub. Some day I will be back. To stay.

D. I rediscovered my love for South Park. These boys touch my heart deeply. And my sense of humour. I'm loving it! And the people in the DVD shops love me for buying their crap.

E. I discovered I don't wanna get old. I am again the baby in the company, but I will be 22 in only 2 months. Seems scary to me. Life is so much easier when you are 21. Or 20. Or 3.

Ok, now I need to focus on the important things in life. Such as Terry Pratchett, some Mini Stroopwaffels (I discovered them in the local Spanish supermarket, as advised by Mirjam - the most Dutch person of the dutch guys around here. Thanks, Mirjam! You da man!), and finally some sleep.

And before I forget - I promise I will blog more often ;)

Gibolution

... or my evolution in Gib:

8 months ago we pretended to be planes taking off while crossing the runway. Now we laugh at the people who do it.

8 months ago I thought it is very weird that a road is crossing a live plane runway. Now it seems quite natural to me.

8 months ago I thought it is very exciting to cross a border every day. Now I get annoyed of showing my passport and purse contents 2-3 times a day.

8 months ago all I knew in Spanish was 'Me gustas tu', thanks to Manu Chao. Now I even understand a little bit when people speak to me and can speak a little bit too.

8 months ago I found the one big happy family (of everyone who works/lives in Gib) a nice idea. Now I very often wish there was more privacy.

And many more. Funny things cross your mind when you walk ALL the way home and cross a runway and a border halfway through ;)
